Sugar was at the Maricopa County shelter, had passed all her evaluations and was made adoptable when she caught a cold that she couldn't kick. Because of this, Sugar was placed on the euthanasia list. A few caring shelter volunteers began networking her in an effort to save her life - this girl is good with dogs, children and sweet as can be; they couldn't watch her be killed for having a cold! Paw Placement caught wind of Sugar's story and a foster family stepped up for her. They went down to the county shelter to pick her up, and were mistakenly told by three different volunteers that she is dog aggressive. The foster family left the shelter, heartbroken because they were set on saving this beautiful girl but unable to risk the safety of their own dogs at home. After a few days of debate and communication among shelter volunteers, the fosters and Paw Placement, we sent someone to evaluate Sugar with dogs - as her evaluations had indicated, this girl is wonderful with dogs and is not aggressive in any way. Though Sugar almost lost her life due to poor communication, Sugar is now living with a loving foster family, enjoying the company of two dogs, and recovering well from her cold. , As her name implies, Sugar is sweet as can be. She is crate and house trained, great with dogs, mastering her leash manners and extremely affectionate with her people. Sugar is smart, medium energy, and eager to please. This girl will be a wonderful addition to nearly every type of family., If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application. More about SugarGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
