Billie Holliday was rescued from the West Side Animal Care & Control where she was slated to be euthanized because she wasnt presenting well in her kennel. Was she snarling and barking at passers-by? No. Was she using the bathroom inside her kennel? No. Was she chewing up her bedding or barking nonstop? No. , She was frightened. She sat in her cell and hid her face. And so, she was scheduled to die., Some of the best dogs are scared to death in the pound. I am not gonna lie to you ... the place scares ME! Not because the staff is uncaring - but because the number of animals people just abandon there is horrifying. Lack of funding limits bedding and toys ... and while the kennels are clean, they are sparse and cold. This place is scary to a sensitive canine who is confused as to why she has been abandoned by a human she loved., Welll....we sprung Miss Holliday and she has been singing our praises ever since. That scared demeanor that almost got her killed? GONE! She is happy and loving and looking for her forever home. Come meet Billie Holliday ... she will make your heart sing!
