Papillon

A couple was carrying a little papillon into the pound just as I was walking out, carrying six kittens we'd just rescued. The dog had the biggest, roundest eyes and she looked right at me as the couple walked by. "Wait a second," I said, kicking myself for not just getting into my car. "Are you turning that dog in?" Yeah, they said - they're mom had just passed away. The dog had been hers. They told me how much their mother had loooooved her little dog - how she had doted upon the animal - and how they knew this sweet creature had probably kept their mother alive for a few more years. The dog was perfectly trained - she knew her commands - and she was very sweet. Despite all of this, the couple didnt want the dog and were taking her to a kill shelter. The dog sat docilely in their arms, and blinked at me with her gorgeous eyes. UGH! "Give her to me," I said, hoping somewhere these people's mother was thanking me for caring more about her little dog than her children did. Bette Davis is THE perfect dog. If you are looking for a small dog who is well-behaved, awesomely trained and super affectionate, Bette Davis is your girl. She loves to be carried and is a true lap dog. Look into her eyes and fall in love.
