***Summit is in Flagstaff and is our first dog in our branch of Paw Placement Flagstaff.*** Summit is 61 pounds (needs to gain 7-10 lbs) & if one word describes him it would be love hog. He follows me from room to room to room....& if he isn't where he can see me he comes back frequently for reassurance that he is loved & to see that I'm still there., He plays well with my Kiska which not many dogs do. Last night he did great at the Light parade - walking nicely on a Halti (he pulls without one). He said hello nicely to many other dogs & licked many kids faces. , He likes to sit on your feet when you stop walking. , He didn't like the high school bands - too loud but he didn't cower as long as I stood with one leg on each side of him & kept a hand on his head. , He is smart as a whip & has already learned that people beds & couches are not where he belongs. , I'm crate training him & while it's still a challenge to get him in it he goes in it on his own when it's just sitting open. , , I left him out free yesterday while I was gone & he knocked a pan of hot dog water on the floor so the feet on the counter are still something we are working on. , Now that he has unwound some he has started to play with toys. He plays with them well & doesn't destroy them - he also retrieves balls. , Things we are still working on are bolting out of the car & doors. He is hard to keep outside when you are trying to close the door & leave him out because he wants to be with you. , He is always hungry & eats like he hasn't been fed in months - I mentioned above that he is thin. He loves to be touched - anywhere, everywhere is ok -therefore I think even a 5 year old would be ok - I wouldn't go smaller just because of his size. , , I have been wearing a Halti on him when we walk & yesterday when we did 5 miles I wore it on him for the 1st mile & then just hooked his collar & didn't pull bad for almost the rest of the time. This is the kind of dog that you could teach to go get your slippers for you, turn off lights, walk off leash, etc. More about Summit - In FlagstaffGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
