About Lilly

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 1008
Hi, my name is Lilly. I was dropped off in the backyard of a house where nobody lived. I was really scared and didn?t know what to do until I met Poppy. Boy was she glad to see me! She had been waiting for her mama cat to return and said that in the meantime, I could stay with her under the shrub where her mama taught her to hide. But her mama never came backand we waited and waited. We had been drinking from a puddle, but Poppy said I was looking way too skinny and I thought she looked a little thin herself. Thank goodness a lady finally came to mow the lawn, because we were really hungry! She left us lots of food, then came back and brought us both home and took us to the vet. He said that I?m probably a purebred tri-colored Border Collie and that I don?t have heartworms and Poppy doesn?t have leukemia or aids. I thought that was okay because we still had each other, but I guess he felt sorry for us anyway, because he gave us some vaccinations and then said that we were in good shape. He also said I have an old injury on my muzzle, probably from getting my nose shut in a door, but it doesn?t affect the way I eat, drink, or play. I still bow and bounce around., Our lady has 3 really big Great Danes, so Poppy and I stay in the bathroom most of the time and play and play. We get out several times a day when those big guys are out in the backyard. Poppy uses the litter box, but says I have to go outside on a leash, which I am learning to do very well. I am looking for a forever home where I will be spoiled with lots of love and patience, as I am quite shy. Is there any way that Poppy can come, too? PLEASE? You know, she probably could have climbed that old fence, but she stayed with me under that shrub for 3 whole weeks so I wouldn?t be lonely. She?s the only reason the lady noticed us in the first place, because I was too scared to come out. Poppy is very outgoing and loves to cuddle. I do too, after I know it?s safe. We have so much in common. We?re both very sweet little girls, we do everything together, we love to play wrestle and explore, we always sleep right next to each other, and we?re both about 12 weeks old. Poppy is a tabby/tortie mix kitty that is very playful and well, I?m a Border Collie puppy, so I have lots of energy, too. We are a perfect match if we can go as a pair. Poppy is litter box trained and I am working on my house manners. I do walk fairly well on a leash and will need continued socialization with people and other dogs. So be prepared to have a lot of fun with us, because we sure have a lot of fun together now that we are well fed, happy, and safe! , By the way, Border Collies are herding dogs that tend to be very intelligent. They enjoy having a job to do and like to stay busy. They can be very intense and may seek a lot of attention. Please be familiar with the breed before considering adoption.
