Unknown breed / mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Senior : : Medium Shepard Mix
On a semi-sunny Sunday,a shepard mix sat in a concrete kennel. She stared sweetly at strangers as they sauntered by - some stopping to say "Hi" and others slipping by her space without notice. But the shepard waited with patient brown eyes, having no idea that this was to be her last few hours alive. A volunteer walked by the dog's kennel and the shepard stood up with a gentle wag of her tail. It was only then that we noticed that this dog was recently a mother, her stomach was still distended from recently nursing pups. "Where are the puppies," the volunteer asked an Animal Care & Control representative. It turns out that one by one, this shepard watched her puppies be adopted until she remained alone in her space, an adult and unwanted. The shepard was freed from a sad fate on this particular semi-sunny Sunday when she came home with us. There is not a cloud in the sky of this happy girl's personality and both the day of her rescue and her sunny disposition inspired her name. If you are looking for an active playmate in a canine companion who enjoys the company of other canines and the attention of children old enough to have impulse control, this is your girl! Sunday will make a great exercise buddy or hiking friend. More about SundayGood with Dogs
