As you can see, the boys will be a year old next month, and Doc is as tall as Pearl. I think he will be larger than her when he stops growing. They are loving it out here in Tombstone.

Chance
Hi -
Thought I would drop a note and let you know how well Chance is. Sir Chancealot is living a good dog life. We go running in the mornings. He plays with Trinity all day and we go to the dog park in the evenings.
We have been working through a book "101 dog tricks." He can high-five, weave between my legs and will roll over to his back if you say "bang!"
Here are a couple of recent photos...
Chris I got engaged a few months ago - so Trinity and Chance will be step dogs. :-) Thank you so much for taking such good care of Chance. He is a little gentleman and we adore him.

rusty
I hit the dog lotto! Thanks to Paw Placement Rusty was rescued just hours before being euthanized at the dog pound. His story like so many others for the most part unknown, other than his elderly owners could no longer care for him. Rusty is such a gentle soul, he is completely socialized, loves people, dogs and cats! Since he is a senior dog he is hearing impaired, but he more than makes up for it by being extra attentive and watching my every move. When we go to the dog park, he never strays too far and always checks to make sure that I can see him. He is shameless when it comes to showing off his talents. he shakes and he loves to give a high five for a treat. His eagerness to fit in and be a part of the family is so evident. he asks for permission before entering a room and he never is more than a few feet away in case I need a dog kiss. Rusty is a hit with the neighborhood dogs and he blends in with the pack on our daily walks with Sonny & Peanut. I truly believe that dogs bring out the best in people. they show us nothing but love and adoration. My husband and I feel so blessed to have Rusty in our lives. Again, many thanks to Kay, Catherine and the other volunteers who fostered Rusty until we were properly introduced. He's a keeper and we are SO happy!
Sincerely,
Leigh Crowe

tawny
Merry Christmas! Tawny enjoyed her first Thanksgiving and Christmas w/ us. She is doing great and seems to enjoy the holiday festivities. We've been taking Tawny to doggy day camp for 4-5 months now to help w/ her socialization and she has made many new friends and getting more playful all the time. We take her about 1/week to Belly Rubz and the staff there has been great. She has a couple of girls that she has really bonded with and seem to pay her special attention. So with great trepidation, Heather and I decided to get away for a week and try boarding her at Belly Rubz. We were quite nervous to leave her, but we knew the staff would take care of her. We called in almost everyday and she seemed to do better and better everyday. She's even more playful now with us and other dogs. I can't say enough about the staff there and well they treat her and look after her. Merry Christmas to you and your family. And thanks again for bringing such a special little dog into our lives.

Chaco
Hello everyone;
I just wanted to let all of you know how happy I am in my new home. I was a dog that was adopted through Paw Placement of Northern Arizona (PPNAZ). My family, David & Karin, told me that you wanted to hear from me. Well, I'm doing great! It took a while to get them trained, but hey, they learned. This family has some weird habits. They take me to Our Dog Wash and bathe me once a month. Can you imagine that? I must admit that it feels good and I am a bit less "fragrant." I have a big yard and at night time elk and deer come to graze and poop. I make a bee-line for the stuff and roll in it before my dad can catch me. I hope all dogs are this lucky! Speaking of my dad, he takes me almost everywhere. My favorite store is Home Depot. I also go to visit the residents at Loyalton Assisted Living and give them my special love. I have two beds; one in the living room and the other is in the bedroom. That's fine for when I'm in the house, but I prefer the outdoors. My family seems to have a problem with letting me be outdoors all day when it's wet and muddy. They've even bought me boots with reflective tape. Can you imagine that? I have VERY hairy pads and the vet told them that I'll have a hard time with the snow build up that turns to ice. I humor them and wear the silly things. My family is very sneaky. They keep the bedroom dark when they get up early and close the bedroom door. They don't want to wake me too early because I'm ready for OUT THE DOOR when I wake up. I give them my old shimmy shake so they hear my tags tinkle on my collar, and then I give them a couple of loud yawns. Yeh, they get it and out we go! I'm getting my picture taken with Santa next weekend. My parents want to show my picture and brag. Cute, huh? All in all, I think I lucked out. Life is very good and I am very lucky.
Merry Christmas, Chaco

Hi!
Benny has now been part of my life for little over a year now! I must say he is such a lover and has changed a lot over this past year! He has become such a great companion. I wanted to let you know that he has made so much progress! His personality has really come out! All it takes is a little love! I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It's been a while since our last update and so much has happened. Tawny is doing great - she's growing more confident everyday and is learning all sorts of new tricks. She's so much more playful at home and she's really getting her voice.
She's been going to doggy day camp and making new friends, not playing much yet, but getting much better w/ the staff. And now when Heather & I take her to the dog park she's really starting to play a lot more. We took her to Octoberfest here in Fountain Hills and she did great w/ the crowd, played w/ a couple of dogs, and even enjoyed the polka band.
Heather has taught her to twirl on her hind legs, shake hands and rollover. I wasn't able to get great pictures, but you get the idea. Last Sat we took Tawny to the Dog Agility Championships at Westworld and there was a "lure" course for the amateur dogs run. Tawny didn't seem too interested at first, but when she saw the 'rabbits tail' she was off to the races. We were so proud of her running through the course. We can't thank you enough for bringing such a great little dog into our lives. Hope you enjoy the pictures (and don't mind the rambling e-mail),
Paul
And I almost forgot, she killed a mouse in the backyard the other night - she was mighty proud of herself!

pugsey
Good morning.
I just wanted to thank you for such a great experience with adopting Pugsey. We are calling him Toby and he is responding to his new name and following the rules. The dogs are getting along great so far, they slept together through the night with no accidents or whining. I have taken them on 2 walks and they are both great on the leash next to each other. Again, thank you for taking such good care of him, we are glad to give him a permanent home with Tanner.
Tom
Just wanted to send you a quick email letting you know that Pugsey is doing great so far. He and Tanner are not more than 5 feet apart at all times. They sleep together, eat right next to each other and stay close together in the house and outside. They wrestle a lot, but love to cuddle with us too. When we walk them outside people stop us to ask if they are brothers, haha. I absolutely adore Pugsey, and wanted to thank you for making this happen.

Just a note to let you know the boys are doing great. They are catching up to Pearl in size. 8 months old now. Their personalities are so different. Doc is easy going and just a big doof. Wyatt is a natural guard dog. He would have made a great police dog. Their differences are what makes them good together. They are buddies. I'm glad we kept them together. My only problem is....they hog the sofa.

ricky
Hi Paw Placement,
Hey, I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know Popeye ( aka Rickie) turned out to be quite a great dog after extensive training. I adopted Popeye after my last MN pet rescue passed away after 11 years. I have linked to your site from my business website. www.modzilla.com Popeye had cancer a year or so ago (cutaneous hemangisarcoma) a few months after I I adopted him (which my vet Dr. Jenna Remshaw cured). He had skin allergies which have been arrested. Despite $1700.00 of expenses over the last 2 years I am so glad Popeye jumped on top of the picnic table at Chaparrel park and picked me to take care of him!,
Thank You for "Popeye"
Best Wishes,
Blake

Paulie
Hi Dee,
Paulie is doing really great! He has filled out Quite a bit and seems to be starting to grow into his Long arms and legs! He really loves his walks and is getting really good on his leash.
Paulie is as funny as ever! In the morning when my alarm goes off, he lets out a big moan/sigh, then walks on over and tickles my face with his whiskers. He still thinks he is a lapdog! He Loves to cuddle up like a baby on Ryan's lap, it is hilarious. All the neighbors get a kick out of him!! Their dogs will be Barking like crazy as we walk by, but Paulie doesn't seem to be Bothered by them...he just sniffs around like its "business as usual."
He realizes now that we are keeping him, because he will now roam from Room to room and make himself comfortable, whereas before he wanted to Be Wherever we were, and our bathroom is small! He still will peep his Head in the shower from time to time, but he seems to enjoy "Paulie Time" on the couch.
We are so grateful to have Paulie in our lives. We were just talking Yesterday about how we couldn't imagine not having him around. He is Just such a sweet-natured boy and everyone loves him!!
Thanks for checking in, We will keep you posted with any updates or funny stories!

Cowboy
Hi from Kurt and Cowboy,
Cowboy of the Canyon says "Howdy" to his Foster Mom, Debbie. He says thanks to you and Paw Placement. I have the "best life" both in Oak Creek and back in Scottsdale. My kitty sisters "Crazy" and "Little Shit" just love me and are always rubbing up to me. Noble dog that I am, I have decided to love the kitties back. I'll even give them the occasional "sniff and lick". I also love my Mom, Ruth, and give her lots of kisses. Of course, I adore my Dad and am always at his side 24/7. We have walks in the city and hikes in the country every single day.
Love, Cowboy

Dexter
Hi Dan,
Thanks for your call about Dexter this evening. He is a really great dog and we feel so fortunate to have him as part of our pack (we now own 4 dogs- all rescues). We are always so amazed at how friendly he is with other dogs and people considering his circumstances. I've attached some photos of him. One of him in his 'float coat' while swimming (we call him our pit bull retriever!), one of him with his 'brother' and best friend Seacrest, a family portrait of all 4 of 'em together, and a solo pic taken this evening (the one ear standing up on its own is a new thing and we're kind of amused by it). Feel free to use any of them.
Thanks, Laura

Morgan
Hi Angie!
Just wanted to write you and follow up about Morgan's summer. Well, last weekend was our first big road trip...I took her with me to California to visit my family. She had a great ride, what a little princess, she loved having the whole back to herself. The whole family took to her right away, and she was very comfortable around them (though she did seem to get a little nervous when I left the area she was in, but I think she just needed to know where I was at all times). I attached a couple pics, she was a very happy girl! We've bonded quite well and she's really comfortable in my complex now, she seems to know her way around and has settled in.
Hope you're having a great summer!
Cheers,
Jeff

Tobreia
Hi Allyson,
I don't think I've emailed you in a while.Just wanted to update you on the Hurley Bird (her new nickname). Our little family has grown a little more with the addition of Ariyel an English Shepherd and the Duke a fat Beagle. Ariyel was a scrawny little puppy that was hiding behind a tree, and when I brought Hurley in to meet the pups, she came running out of her hiding place, and that was a beginning of a beautiful friendship. However, Ariyel quickly out grew Hurley and on our nightly bikerides/walks/runs Ariyel and Isabelle would out run Hurley and go off together. Ever loyal Hurley (our most loyal by far) would just stay on the trail by Nick and I's side, and I felt really lonely for her. In the house, Ari and Hurley are still best buds, but out on the trails she was lonely...so we decided to get her a Beagle pal. Nick was insistant on a male dog...so the search began. We found one in very bad condition that needed to be rescued. He was very very obese and his teeth were rotting out of his mouth. He was the stinkiest dog we'd ever smelled and his hair would come out in handfuls. It was very sad. We can tell he was beat on how he reacts to discipline or just petting. However, he has become the perfect companion for Hurley. I wish you could see them Allyson, on the trail they are joined at the hip and go exploring together with their cute little trotting and straight up tails bobbing with their walk. So our plan worked out very well. Our two big black dogs are great hunting companions and our two Beagles are great smeller companions. Our family is complete and we have a blast now with our daily adventures. I have to tell you it's so great to have such brave dogs. We did have one scary incident with Hurley and a coyote. She ran up to one, and they smelled each other like normal doggies, became friends and started to trot off together. I heard that coyotes do that to bring dogs to the pack and eat them, so we were able to stop her and punish her severely for it. No problems now with Coyotes because I think our pack is too big for them...we do worry about Duke though because he is such a deluctible treat so we keep a close eye on him. I never realized how difficult it was to get excess weight off a dog. Poor thing...but it's hard. We finally found a food that seems to be working on getting his weight down. And we're getting ready to start all the dogs in flyball training, so I'll let you know how that goes. Hurley loves to fetch if it's complicated enough, she might be our smartest dog, so I think she'll do great.....if she doesn't get distracted by all the other dogs. I took her to school with me one night to demostrate training and she was a star- so I think she'll do okay.
Here are some pictures! Enjoy! And thanks again for all you do to help our furry friends! We're looking at buying a bigger house so we can become fosters as well. We've already helped rescue and re-adopt out about 10 dogs now...but we're quickly outgrowing our house.
Take Care!!
-Beks, Nick, Duke, Hurley, Isabelle & Ariyel

Willie
Hi Becky,
Willie has been sending emails to friends and family showing off his new haircut and he wanted to make sure to send you one too.
He is doing extremely well, we could not ask for a better "best friend" and companion. Lately he has taken up residence on the sofa, as you can tell in the pictures, he watches for golfers and critters all day. When he is not on the sofa he is at the patio door watching for lizards and other creatures.
Hopefully before too long we can get him down to Petco to visit with you. I know he would like the trip and I am sure he could find something to get into in there. Are you still setting up down there on Saturdays?
Well we have to go now, his highness is asking for a walk, before it starts to rain.
Best wishes, Willie, Randy and Lori

Paulie
Look at the cute pic Amanda sent me of Paulie and her today. She loves him so much!

Balto
Henry
The boys are settling in real good. They must be comfortable and confident because they are no longer inseparable. Doc (Henry) is a mama's boy. Wyatt (Balto) we call him "The Marshall" Is already defending his property, and announcing any visitors. He follows Randy around all day. He is also fond of Pearl. She tries to play with him, but she is a big girl, at 80 pounds. You can see by the last picture the size difference. Pearl has always fetched a stick, and when Wyatt saw that he just had to try it.
They sleep through the night, in our room on their dog beds. They have learned some manners, but need to be reminded. They are very smart pups and we have been having alot of fun with them. Doc is still trying to bring his ears back up, and once in a while we'll catch him with one up. I read that when they are teething, sometimes their ears will go back down. Hopefully once he gains some weight and strength, he'll be able to do it. Otherwise we may try taping them. He has gained a little weight, as his ribs are note quite as visible.
We'll send an update as they get bigger. It's hard to believe they could be as big as Pearl one day!

Hodgie
Paw Placement Family:
Dexter G. (fka Hodgie) is doing just great. We changed his name to Dexter Gordon (great jazz saxophonist) to accompany his two sisters, Ella (Fitzgerald) and Peggy Lee.
Dexter is a real maniac and keeps us on our toes. He’s brought Peggy out of her shell and Ella is a great big sister who will chase and wrestle with him and helps to keep him in line. His favorite buddy, however, is my mother’s miniature dachshund named Moxie (she’s full of it!). When she visits it is non-stop wrestling and chasing through the house, up on the beds, around the tables and then they switch and the chaser becomes the chased!
Last Christmas, he quickly inserted himself into the memory book when he snuck up onto a chair that was pushed in under the dining room table and craned his neck around to the tabletop to take a lick and a healthy-sized bite out of our traditional cranberry cake w/pink frosting! I don’t blame him one bit, as it’s one of my favorite things about Christmas too!
Dexter has occasionally exercised his teeth on the furniture or something we’d rather he didn’t. He is a very intelligent dog and gets bored and I’ve found that this boredom is what leads to his chewing on the sofa and finding things around the house he can drag out through the doggie door to the backyard to play with. So, we’ve learned to pick up after ourselves and “Dexter-proof” the coffee table and not leave chairs where he can use them to get up onto tables, etc. Dexter especially enjoys a good thirty minutes or more of tug-o-war before bedtime. He is also loves to cuddle (when he’s pooped) and is very quick to pick up on new things and I hope to find a good trainer this fall to come to our home and work on some formal training for Dexter, Peggy & Ella. I’m sure it’s me & my husband that really need the training!
The pics attached are not the best, but let you know he’s happy and healthy and loving his sisters & us.
Trying to get them all to sit or hold still long enough to snap the camera was a LOT of fun!
Dexter is doing great and we are forever thankful that we found each other.
Peace, Susan & Jarvis Crawford

Tawny
We took Tawny on her first vacation - a trip to Montana to see my parents - and she loved it. She did great on the long drive to and from Montana and had a great time exploring nature once we got there. I'm afraid our little yard is a bore compared to running around in Montana. She's doing great and growing more confident all the time. She's completely comfortable w/ me now, but she's still wary of others. But she's getting better. Here are a few pictures from the trip and a camping trip to Flagstaff.

Olive
Hereare some pics of Mika. She is doing very well and is becoming a great addition to our family. She is very smart and comical as you can see from a few of the pics. The pink ring around her nose is the ring I told you about. She flipped it over her nose and attempted to walk around the house not realizing she could not see! It was hilarious! You can also see that she loves water! She will play in her water bowl if no one is poolside, but will not go in or near the pool if we are not in it! Thank God!! We bought her a vest and she loves swimming in it, I will get pics of her sporting her new vest soon. She is so cute...(and knows it)!! Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to adopt her.

Maggie
Just wanted to let you know Maggie is doing great! She warmed up to us pretty quickly and is just being a happy dog. She walks so well on the leash, but likes to pick up the pace a little bit when she sees her home--she can't wait to get back! We're really happy to have her. Thanks again!

Vinnie
Well, it's been nearly 2 months, can you believe it! Frankie has really settled in. He is just WONDERFUL, actually he is lying on my feet as I type this. He's 22 pounds of fun and energy we are so enjoying him. He has made "friends" with a poodle, a scottie and a mutt all about his size that we meet at the green every morning at 7:30 for a half hour of run as fast as you can----none of them can keep up with Frankie. When he gets bored during the day, he takes all of his toys out the doggie door and leaves them all over the yard. After we get home he gradually brings all the toys back in. He has a bright yellow stuffed duck that's about half his size that he is constantly playing with, he tosses it in the air then runs and jumps on it. We couldn't ask for a better pet. I tell everyone I know they should contact Paw placement if the are looking for a pet.

Jeannine, hope all is well with you.
Maggie graduated from 8 wk obedience training at Petsmart on Friday. She was a good girl and did well. Everyone fell in love with her and her...... wardrobe! :) Maggie did not like her graduation cap at all. It took 5 pictures to get this one. Ha! What a fun night!

All dressed up to meet Teekeeto. Our neighbor's little boy dog. A Chiwahua, Russell terrier mix.

Visiting Teekeeto, who is on a diet and was cantankerous that night. He refused to pose for me :)
Koley
Hi. This is our new pup, Koley - with Tassie -- on the first day of her arrival. It's been hectic but think it's going to be great once they get blended! Enjoy!

She is doing so well and has fitted in just great She is losing weight with all the excercise I wish it would work as quick for me !!
Thanks Trish :O)

Maud
December, 25, 2007
Hi Jeannine,
You made everyone's day by sending Maud a package :) THANK YOU! Sorry it has taken so long to write you. I was at work when it was delivered, but my mom said it seemed as if Maud knew the package was for her when it was put in between the door. She of course went crazy sniffing it. I will attach some pictures of her opening everything. We totally appreciate you and the dogs thinking of her/us. The calendar is great too! Thanks!
I'll also attach some pictures from Maud's 3rd Christmas with us :) We gave her a toy skunk, who has since become "her baby." She does not go far without it in her mouth or in sight. There have even been some times where the skunk is in her mouth as she goes outside to pee :) Her motherly instincts are definitely coming out!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Happy New Year!
Love,
Maud, Melissa, and family :)
Cupcake
Hi Barb, Cupcake (renamed Sheena) is such a wonderful little cat! Since she came into our home 2+ years ago, she’s been nothing but a delight! She loves her doggy brother Riley, and loves to cuddle on our laps when we sit down. She sits on the windowsill during the day, making funny little cat noises when she spots birds outside! She’s also our first-ever "retriever" cat - she chases down a little rubber ball that we throw down our hallway, then puts it in her mouth, brings it back to us and drops it in our lap so we can do it all over again! It’s really adorable!
Attached is a picture of Sheena, looking cute as always! Thanks for the work that you do! .

Bandera
Hi Paw Placement, Bandera is now called Rockstar because she has the cutest eyes that look like they have black eyeliner around them, has fit right in to my home! She loves to sit on peoples’ laps and be petted. She also sleeps on my bed each and every night. Since I have gotten Rockstar I have decided that every home is much happier with a pet! I just love her SOOOO much!!! I will send you some pictures of her from home, but I am at work right now and do not have them saved to this computer. Thank you so much for taking good care of her and introducing her to me!

Rex
Rex... is now called Tikki and he is probably the best pet we have ever had as part of our family! He is loving and responsive. He comes when called and likes nothing better than to be with us wherever we are. Although he has nails, he has not destroyed anything in our home. Only occasional scratching which stops when we tell him... no. We do have many scratching posts around for him, but every now and then the sofa or chair seems like a better place. He has a very distinct voice which he uses often and complains when he doesn’t get attention or when someone comes into the house and doesn’t acknowledge his presence. A definite people cat... although he does get along with his geriatric buddy - a black & white tuxedo cat named Sylvester, who is now 17. I will try to remember to send you a photo. His coat is very long and furry and he looks like a Maine Coon cat, although the vet calls him a tabby. He does shed and sometimes doesn’t like to be brushed too much, but we work around it because he is such a GREAT cat! We are delighted to have him as part of our family! Thank you for everything.

Tanner
I wish I had a digital camera and I certainly would share pictures of Tanner. Tanner is a Terrific cat!! He weighs about 8# - somewhat long and lean. He is a great eater and gets along with my wetie-poo Jake! .

PJ
Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. PJ is doing Great! He gets along with my other cat, Junie, very well and has from the onset. They are best friends! PJ is still VERY PLAYFUL. He loves playing fetch with balls, little mouses and other toys. He is Loved So Much by myself and his sister Juney! Thanks so much for inquiring. I will try to send pictures soon. .

I’ll send some more of her with the horse when I can get some good ones, the weather has put a limit on our outdoor activities the last couple of weeks! .

Smeagol
Hi Barb... Thanks so much for the email to check up on our beloved Simon (a.k.a. Smeagol). In case you are not familiar with our story, we adopted Simon in a roundabout way. Our beloved Brutus passed on December 22, 2005. We had Brutus for a wonderful and amazing 11 years and he passed from a sudden, unexpected brain tumor. We always refer to Brutus as our Ambassador of Cats. Everyone that came into our home immediately fell in love with him, regardless of their pre-existing cat predjudices (i.e. allergies, lack of fondness for cats, etc...) His passing left a tremendous hole in our hearts and in our home. Just a few days after Brutus passed (roughly a week!) a coworker of mine that worked for Paw Placement sent me a photo of Simon (a.k.a. Smeagol). This poor 8-month old cat had no fur, giant ears, and wide green eyes. His story touched a cord in my husband and I that ran deeply. Even though we had just lost Brutus, we felt compelled to drive 25 miles from our home on a weeknight to see Simon in the kitten nursery at a Scottsdale PetsMart, Upon entering the nursery, Simon jumped up on my husband’s shoulder and claimed him for life! As you can imagine, we felt torn about adopting another cat into our family so close to losing Brutus, however Simon was not going to take no for an answer!
We were in PetsMart for over an hour that night (half of which my husband spent with Simon in the kitten nursery). We decided that Brutus would want us to take another beautiful soul into our home and care for them in his absence and so, we took Simon home that night. Nearly a year and a half later Simon has created a snuggly home for himself with his one brother and three feline sisters (and two canine sisters). His fur has filled in to create a magnificent long black coat and he is such a joy to our lives! Admittedly, he has an incredibly strong bond with my husband Vynnie. On ‘Boy’s Night’, me and the girls move to the back room while the boys hang out and bond! It is hard to believe that someone lacked the compassion and insight to take care of such a loving and sensitive boy when he lost his fur as a kitten. We brought him home that night in 2005, loved him, fed him, cared for him and he has flourished ever since! He has a ‘magic Simon button’ (a white patch of fur on his belly) that brings us amazing luck whenever we push it and make a wish! His love wraps us in the soft, warm gaze of his deep green eyes (see attached photo). He has giant puppy feet (even now, at over two years old!) and the most delightful meow in town. While Brutus can never be replaced, Simon has created a spot in our hearts and home that brings lots of love and some boyish charm to all of our lives. We cannot imagine life without Simon!
Thank you for all that you do to save these amazings souls and place them in loving, caring homes. If it were not for Paw Placement, we sould never have had the honor and privelege to care for this delightful and magnificent being!
Kind regards .
Robin & Vynnie
Derek
Tommy
Sorry it’s taken a bit longer to respond, as I have been in California. At any rate, Derek and Thomas could be better, happier, or more loved and spoiled! They have the life that I can only dream about. Some one to take care of them, play with them, and make them feel totally loved. My Mrs. And I were speaking to one another and wondering what we’re going to do in May when she delivers our first son. The cats are going to go nuts, as they like to sleep next to us, at the foot of the bed, or sometimes on the pillows, so with a little one added to the mix, it should be interesting.
Thomas and Derek got new toys for Christmas and they absolutely love playing with them. Derek will actually pick one of the toys up and drop it at our feet wanting to play! No one here in our home passes the others without a hug, kiss, or a pat on a little kitty bottom, just to let the other know that they are lived very much! Derek and Thomas have made out like bandits coming to our home. Within the year we are contemplating moving to a bigger house and that will give them both that much more room to grow and play.
To say the least, these two stinker pots have the life of Riley!Tthat being said, take care and keep in touch.

Buttons
It has now been a year since we adopted Buttons. We renamed him Casper which fits him well. He is all white and tends to hide and disappear. We have three dogs and three cats which includes him. He absolutely loves the other animals and they him! He is still quite shy with humans, probably has to do with his early years and perhaps lack of human contact. I understand he had a sister who was adopted out shortly before we adopted him last January. I believe he was in mourning for awhile from his separation. Had I seen them both, I would have taken them together
Anyway, he has a warm and loving home with lots of TLC when he will let us! He gets regular vet care and eats a very healthy diet. When I get a chance to get pictures with his sisters and brothers, I will send them to you. Although he is very shy, he is a love bug when he lets us.
Happy New Year--

Thank you for your note. My husband and I have been thinking of sending you all some pictures and just didn’t get to it, As you can see, we changed Misty’s name to Cassie. I felt since she was a stray captured in a trap that she probably didn’t get used to the name Misty. We think she is a Cassie cat! She responded almost immediately to her new name.
We had a few concerns at the beginning because Cassie was deathly afraid of men. Yes, any man within 50 feet of her would induce the flight and hide syndrome. Even with men outside on the street sho were no possible harm to her. My husband is a patient and kind man and he is now able to pet and brush Cassie. It was the brushing that finally got her within petting distance of him! She loves being brushed! The only other concern we had at the beginning was that when we went to pet her head, she ducked as if we were going to hit her. I really do believe she had a bad life even before she ended up in the industrial park.
She saw our vet when we first brought her home and we were told she had a malformed upper left canine tooth but that there was no problem at the time. We just needed to watch it as it would probably break off at some point. Cassie loves to play and bite her toys and one day in April I noticed that she had broken her tooth in half. Our vet in Victoria removed the tooth and she has been fine since.
As you can see, she has a loving home now. We love her very much and she is coming to be friends with our other cat in the family, Cleo. To date she has traveled with us in our motorhome to the Copper Canyon in Mexico, almost to Mazatlan, back to Victoria, out to Calgary in August, back down to Phoenix in Novemeber and in December she visited all across the southern US seeing Key West, Miami, Atlanta for Chritmas and she brought in the new year in Louisville. Now back in Phoenix until the end of March. As a former stray she truly has strayed much further that she ever would have dreamed of!
Here are some pictures for you to enjoy and share.
Sincerely, Bobbie and Sandy
Roberto
Hello Barb
Roberto, now Otis, is doing Great! I absolutely adore him and he is one of the most well-behaved and friendly cats I’ve ever encountered. He has quite a sweet personality and loves to snuggle before bedtime.
Attached are some newer pictures of Otis and his interesting choices in where to take a nap.He can also be found in my laundry, in a drawer, on the tv, and various other locations that make me laugh!

Bradley
Hi Barb:
Bradley (we changed his name to Edward) is a wonderful addition to our family!. He brings us great joy every day! We adopted another cat (Molly) that we found in a pipe at a local shopping center. Molly and Edward are the best of friends and are together all the time!
He is very intelligent, affectionate, friendly, and loves other animals. He enjoys going for walks in his stroller. We would love to find another one just like him!
Here is a picture of Edward and Molly with Santa (Christmas 2007). Edward is the one on the right (kissing Santa!)
Thanks, Ann
Willow

Squeak
Barb, Squeaky was renamed Chloe. She is a beautiful, carefree, loving, and extremely energetic little girl! You guys weren’t far off when you named her “Squeaky”—she loves to talk, especiallt in the morning! Chloe loves attention and she loves to play. Her new favorite thing is water. She is very clever as she has taught herself how to turn on the bathroom faucet to play! Chloe and her older sister, Taz, like to chase each other and play
Chloe was a wonderful addition to our family! Thank you!!
The first picture is of Chloe and her sister, Taz. Chloe was about 6 months old at the time. The second is Chloe now. She is a happy, healthy, loveable little girl!.

Chestnut
Chestnut is now named Phantom. She is a lovebug and a real sweetheart! She loves the other kitty we adopted with her. She also adores the two dogs we have. She is a playful kitty who loves to watch the hummingbirds and is still Extremely kitten-like!
We love her to pieces!
Anyway, attached are a few photos.

Merlot
Merlot, or as we call him, Fievel, is doing Fantastic! He is a giant mainecoon now! We absolutely love him, and he is actually our second baby, because last year we took in a little stray kitten. I can’t even imagine what life was like before we had Fievel in the house! He is such a sweet, good natured kitty! I attached a recent photo of him that I took on my digital camera so you can see how beautiful he is. I have lots of pictures of him with his “daddy” watching television together on the couch, too! He has his own house in the corner where he hoardes his cat toys, and he absolutely loves to be pet and cleaned!
THANK YOU FOR HIM!
Much, Anastasia

Drake
After aoption we renamed Drake to Scotty. Scotty was a companion for our older cat Misty. It wasn’t such a great idea mixing a kitten with an older cat, as he was too rambunctious and Misty just wanted to cuddle and mother him. So we got Benny as a playmate for Scotty and harmony took over the household! Benny and Scotty played Tom & Jerry with each other and Misty got to cuddle Scotty when he became tired. They adored each other! Sadly, we lost Misty a year ago to kidney problems.
But Scotty and Benny are great buddies! We have so enjoyed Scotty, he’s a great companion and love his ‘people-time’! Attached is a picture of Scotty (on bottom) all grown up now and Benny (on top)
Regards, Margaret
Jane
Hi Megan, Do you remember fostering Jane? I adopted her. Here are two pictures of her opening Christmas presents. She had a very busy day playing with her toys and she’s passed out by the fireplace now (there was no time for her usual nap). I thought you’d enjoy seeing them. She’s about a year and half old now. She’s such a sweetie, I love her to pieces! Merry Christmas!

Cowboy
December, 17, 2007
Kurt feels it's important for you, Valinda and the Paw Placement people to know that their "good work" really changes lives both for the rescued pets and the human adopters. It truly gives them a "new lease on life". One filled with much needed companionship, physical affection and unconditional love. For Kurt and myself, we feel that since the loss of our beloved Sadie-Nicole that Cowboy's presence in our home is truly a "heart healing" experience.
Cowboy is now a very happy dog. He is always smiling, wagging his tail constantly and forever ready for another walk! Our cats have decided that they love him, even playing with his wagging tail! He has become Kurt's "shadow", following him everywhere. When Kurt goes out the door, Cowboy will lie down there and patiently wait for him to return thru it.
After all i
