History

Anyone who has owned a chihuahua knows that these little dogs love to be warm! They have thin skin and a light coat so they get cold very easily. When you walk the corridors of Animal Care & Control in March, its cold. The chihuahuas in the kennels are rolled into tiny balls of shivering doggies. Tulip sat in Kennel 37 freezing her little nose off. When I picked her up, her paws were icey and so were the tips of her ears. I wrapped my arms around her and she relaxed a little. She looked up at me and I saw her face for the first time.

This little flower of a chihuahua had an underbite! She was just too cute and too cold to leave behind.

Tulip is a very docile creature who loves to be held. She will relax for hours in your arms. She is very much a lap dog so if you are looking for an affectionate canine friend, Tulip is a dog you must meet.

She is a small little dog so should go to a home where all humans are old enough to have impulse control.

Tulips are beautiful flowers that grow out of the cold post-winter soil. That is how Tulip our chihuahua got her name. You cannot tell it from the picture but her coat has a gorgeous buttery color mixed with snowy white. We found her on a cold March morning and she has grown to warm our hearts.

She is a sweet sweet little dog.
