History
Happy was found roaming the West-side of town. He was spotted by a Paw Placement volunteer who immediately stopped her car and opened the door. One whistle and the dog jumped into her back seat. "Where we going?" he asked as he licked her face. Then he laid down in her car and went to sleep.
This dog was so laid-back and at-ease with life that we named him Happy.
One thing his rescuser noticed was that Happy was not putting weight on his hind leg. Vets told us that he had likely been hit by a car as a youngster and had never received vet treatment. Now, Happy has had surgery and will get the go ahead from his vet to use his hind leg in a few weeks
He is in a foster home who reports that Happy is a very, very, very smart canine. His foster mama happens to work with dog behavior so after the go ahead from his vet he will be in full behavioral training with his foster. He is being provided with love and structure for the first time in his life and he will benefit to this upcoming training like a champ.
Happy CANNOT go to a home with cats. He just doesnt like the creatures. Some dogs do, some dogs dont. Happy will always need to be kept away from felines.
If you are looking for a well-behaved, smart dog who will be a true canine companion and family friend (did we mention that Happy loves children?? He becomes extremely gentle around them and lets them do whatever they want), then please fill out an application for this splendiferous dog!
